Visto che tra poco mi rimetterò a studiare, ho cercato di non perdere troppo tempo e di togliermi la "rogna" tesi il più velocemente possibile. E infatti l'altro ieri ho finito la traduzione. Finalmente. Ora ci sarà l'introduzione da scrivere e poi si porterà tutto alla docente che mi fa da relatrice (altro giro a Venezia in arrivo!! <3 ) per la correzione e gli aggiustamenti vari.
Devo dire che è stata una bella sfida anche perché, mannaggia a me, non ho scelto un racconto o una normale storia da tradurre, bensì un libro che tratta diversi aspetti tecnici legati all'arte della conversazione (ho pensato facesse per me, dato l'argomento ;-) ). Comunque ho imparato molto dal lavoro che ho svolto. E ci tengo a ribadire, per tutti quelli che pensano che tradurre sia la più semplice delle bazzecole: vi sbagliate!!!!!
Prima, durante e dopo il processo di traduzione bisogna tenere in considerazione diverse variabili e, soprattutto, fare un costante lavoro di ricerca. Fidatevi che ne serve di tempo.
Comunque, spero di ottenere un feedback positivo dalla relatrice, così da potermi concentrare sul mio vero obiettivo e prepararmi con più serenità.
Detto ciò, passiamo ad altro. Ho il piacere di comunicarvi che quest'anno un viaggetto lo faccio e dato che il volo l'ho prenotato, posso ufficialmente dire che...
SI VA A COPENHAGEN!!!!!!

Ora vi spiego. Giacomo, un amico, ha invitato me e altri due del gruppo a passare qualche giorno in Danimarca per il suo compleanno, dato che lui sarebbe stato lì in quei giorni insieme a Theresa (sua morosa). È stato davvero molto carino ad invitarci ed io, personalmente, non vedo l'ora per motivi diversi e molteplici:
- in primo luogo, viaggiare è bello a prescindere. Stop;
- non so molto della Danimarca, per cui sarà un'ottima occasione per conoscere un mondo nuovo, di cui ho sempre sentito parlare benissimo;
- sarà bello trascorrere dei giorni in vacanza tutti insieme;
- la Danimarca è un paese dove si parla molto Inglese, quindi top ;-).
La partenza è fissata per l'8 Agosto da Venezia, con ritorno il 13. Non moltissimo, però senz'altro meglio di niente, no?
Ora ho un mese per prepararmi per bene e informarmi su quali sono i luoghi migliori da visitare, ne farò buon uso!
Non vedo l'ora!!!!!

With the exam thing set aside - for now! -, summer has begun also for me. But what kind of summer is this being?
First of all, hot and with an excessive amount of damp, which makes it quite difficult to stand. Secondly, I'm having quite normal days, neither too good nor too bad, which I'm fine with.
And I'm of course relaxing and being lazy, but not too much.
Actually, since I'm going to restart my studies very soon, I tried not to waste too much thing with the dissertation thing. That's why I put some effort into speeding up the process with the goal of finishing the translation bit (the longest one) as soon as possible. And I succeed, since I finally wrote the last lines a couple of days ago. Now I'm going to write the introduction and then I'll be bringing all the material to my supervisor (a good chance to spend some time in Venice, which is always good <3), hoping to get a positive feedback.
I must say it's been quite a tough challenge so far, also because, damn stupid me, I didn't choose a novel nor any other kind of narration work. No, I went for a book that deals with the many technical aspects of any good conversation (indeed the title "The Art of Speaking" drew my attention ;-) ), which is not exactly a piece of cake considering the level of language and other stuff.
Anyways, I feel I've learnt a lot while working on this project, which is positive. And let me take the chance to say to anyone who believes translating is the easiest thing in the world: YOU COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG!!!
Before, while you're in the middle of the translation process (and even after you've finished!) you need to pay close attention to many small details that could appear banal at first glance. Not to mention the endless research work. Trust me, you need more than a couple of hours to do that.
Anyways, I leave any further consideration for when I have my feedback, hoping it'll be a positive one, which would give me the possibility to focus on my other main goal with less pressure.
That aside, let's move on to more thrilling things.
I'm so excited to tell you that I finally managed to arrange everything with my friends and therefore, since I've already booked the flights, I can safely announce that...
I'M GOING TO COPENHAGEN!!!!!!
- no prizes for guessing that I'm over the moon ;-) -
- first, and more important: traveling is always wonderful and magical, regardless. Period.
- I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to Denmark, so this will be the perfect chance to get to know a "new" world, of which I've always heard positive opinions.
- being there together will make it an even better experience.
- Denmark is a country with so many people speaking English, no need to add anything ;-).
- Copenhagen seems to be a lovely city. That's great!

We're leaving on the 8th of August from Venice and we're staying till the 13th. I know, not much time, but of course it's better than nothing and I'll do everything I can to enjoy every minute there.
Now I'm going to "study" a lot in this month, since I absolutely want to be well prepared on the city and all its best spots and sights to visit and see ;-).
So very excited!!!!!
